Ibis Hotels are committed to protecting our environment through everyday measures such as:
- Waste management and recycling programme
- Controlling water and energy consumption
- Recourse to renewable energies
- Raising awareness and staff training
Our concern about ecological issues is also reflected in the construction of more environmentally friendly buildings.
Ibis is the first hotel brand name to have obtained, in 2004, ISO 14001 environmental certification, delivered by BUREAU VERITAS Certification.

The ISO 14001 certification has already been awarded to more than 200 Ibis hotels worldwide. It attests to the day to day commitment of our team with regard to environmental conservation. Ibis carries out very regular internal controls to ensure that the procedures that have been established are applied correctly at head office and in the certified hotels.
This certification will gradually be achieved by other Ibis hotels throughout France, Europe and the rest of the world.
In France, for example, Ibis continues its commitment to protecting the environment and on 31 July 2007 joined forces, as a founding partner, with the Fondation Nicolas Hulot for Nature and Mankind, a state-approved foundation dedicated to educating the public about the environment for the past 15 years. The 370 Ibis hotels in France are closely associated in the foundation's actions for raising awareness and to its concerns related to environmental issues.
